Getting started
+How long does setup take?
Minutes. Paste one syllabus and you'll get a feasibility report for that course immediately; add the rest as you go. You can also add courses by hand if you don't have a syllabus.
+What if my syllabus is a mess?
Most are. ALPS extracts what it can and asks you about the rest rather than guessing — an unresolvable date becomes a question, not an invented deadline. Everything lands in a review grid you edit before anything is created.
+Can I join mid-semester?
Yes, and it's a first-class path. ALPS asks how far along each course is, seeds your starting knowledge, and builds a plan from today to finals. It will never write homework into last month.
+What if I don't have a syllabus at all?
Add the course manually with whatever you know. If your professor posts weekly, forward it in and the plan extends a week at a time.
Using it
+Do I have to log everything?
No. The daily check-in is four taps and the session log is one. If you skip days, ALPS keeps working from your recent baseline and widens its uncertainty rather than breaking.
+What happens if I ignore the plan?
It shrinks to a minimum viable plan that protects your exams, and the coach asks what's going on. There is no guilt-tripping and no wall of red — that's a deliberate design decision.
+My professor moved an exam. Now what?
Change the date. The taper follows it, the affected weeks re-plan, and every hour you've already logged is preserved. Re-planning only ever rewrites the future.
+Can I see why it told me to do something?
Always. Every session has a "why this?" link showing the exact rules that produced it, and every sentence in your daily briefing opens to the evidence behind it.
The AI
+Does the AI decide my schedule?
No — and this is deliberate. The AI observes, infers and proposes; a deterministic, testable engine makes the actual decisions. That's why ALPS can always show you the rule behind a recommendation instead of a shrug.
+Can it just make things up?
The coach narrates from your real metrics, plan and rule traces. It isn't the source of the numbers — it explains numbers the engine produced.
+Does it write practice questions from my material?
Yes, tagged with where they came from, and always editable. You can also write your own.
Your data
+What is the "Learning Twin"?
A model of how you learn — your pace, rhythms, effective session length, and habits. It's what makes next semester's first plan better than this one's.
+Can I see what it thinks about me?
Every claim, with the evidence behind it, on one page in Settings. You can correct any of it, reject it, or delete the whole model.
+Is my data used to train models?
Your data is used to plan your semester. Anything else — aggregate research, cohort comparisons — would be opt-in and anonymized, and we'd ask first.
+Can I export everything?
Yes, at any time, including if you decide not to continue after the public trial.
Money
+What does it cost?
Nothing during the public trial — every feature, unlimited courses, no card. Afterwards it's $29 a semester or $49 for the academic year.
+Why not a monthly subscription?
Because a monthly bill keeps charging you through winter break. A semester pass matches what you actually bought it for.
+Will I be charged automatically when the trial ends?
No. You'll get at least 30 days' notice and you choose whether to continue.
